Learn By Doing
Research has shown that play helps young children to learn and develop through doing and talking, the means by which young children think. In some activities children decide how they will use/do an activity, whilst in others an adult will take the lead, helping the children to participate in an activity.
All the evidence and observations of for each child are compiled in a Learning Journey. These journals are discussed in detail at parents coffee mornings and lunches, and are available for parents/carers to view at any time. Additionally a transition document is passed onto your child’s teacher at school so they can get to know the child and have an understanding of their overall development before they start at school. Once the children have started school their Learning Journals are given to their parents/carers for the child to keep as a wonderful memory of their time at Rainbow Pre-school.
